Next weekend Lovebox Festival hits London’s Victoria Park.
Over 3 days Example, Foster the People, Herve, Tom Staar, Ed Sheeran, Skream, Snoop Dogg, Jessie J, Groove Armada, Santagold, Maverick Sabre, Jack Beats, Scissor Sisters, Kelis, Robyn, Blondie and a whole host of acts will bring music to the masses. Now it it’s Eighth year this looks set to be one of the best line-ups ever.
I went along last year and divulged my thoughts in a post here unfortunately it wasn’t a rave review due to over filled tents and ridiculously long queues to get into any of the ‘arenas’. Not that I didn’t have fun but I didn’t feel it was worth all my hard earned dosh for the ticket.
Each day is offering an act I want to see. Unfortunately work constraints and my selfish wallet will only allow me to go one perhaps two out of the three days. Decisions, decisions.
At the moment I am feeling Saturday as my day of choice, not only because it is not Friday and therefore I won’t be at work and it is not Sunday so I will not have the overhanging thought of work the following day. In addition to this I happen to privy to some pretty exciting information about an amazing Lovebox after party, happening on the Saturday night but a stones throw away from Victoria Park and promising to offer refuge from the exiting masses as well as the opportunity to win prizes. Yeaahhhhh boiiiiii!
Cloud Cuckoo Land Festival will be holding their Unofficial Lovebox After Party in deepest, darkest, Dalston…the shortest walk from Lovebox possible! The venue, Passing Clouds, prides itself on being a collective mix-match of musical genres and online reviews merit its friendly staff, dubbing it a total gem of a place. It’s hippy vibe and passion to create a community feel means that it is the ideal location for an after party and for Cloud Cuckoo Festival to launch their first pre-party because if Cloud Cuckoo Land isn’t about community, fun and freedom then I don’t know what is?
With entry from 8pm until 5AM!!!! Tickets are only £5 before 10pm and £8 after. BOOM.
But what does this after party have to offer other than cheap entry and a late night license I hear you cry?!
Well there’s a BBQ, Face Painting and a chance to win tickets to Cloud Cuckoo Land Festival in early August. Music wise, expect electro swing, a live reggae band and an ‘infused blend of hip-hop, funk, rock, reggae, drum n bass, dub step and music with true soul’. What more could you want?
